ChengWen: Applied's solar business is still quite a small fraction of the overall semi equipment business size. (2007 fiscal year: Silicon business is $6.5B, Fab solns $2.2B, Display $0.87B, Adjacent $0.17B.) Solar is part of the Adjacent business. But since the semi-equipment and LCDs are maturing, being in solar now makes sense for AMAT. However, they must deliver on their promise to bring solar to grid parity. Otherwise, the adoption will not be wide spread.
